Airfield

The Sandhill Farm site consists of a grass strip about 900 yards long, varying in width between about 150 and 400 yards.

Look ma, I can see my house from here!

Launch Facilities

The club primarily uses a Maule M-6-235 Super Rocket with a 235hp Lycoming engine to provide aerotows.  This can cope with all the gliders currently sited at the club.  In the UK it is a fairly unique aircraft, being one of only two resident here at this time.

Manufacturer: Maule Aircraft Corporation
Model:

Maule M-6-235 Super Rocket

Year built: 1982
Serial Number (C/N): 7413C
Engine Manufacturer and Model: Lycoming IO-540-W1A5D

Clubhouse

This includes a briefing room, and basic kitchen and toilet facilities - plus most importantly a heater and kettle!

Hangar and Workshop

The club gliders and tug are housed rigged in the club's hangar.  Lack of space means that there is not normally room to put privately owned gliders in the hangar overnight.

Trailer Parking

There is ample room for trailer parking in a sheltered part of the airfield close to the clubhouse.

Security

Access to the airfield is via a locked gate. All facilities are secured and alarmed.
